Windmill Science Fair Project Guide

Math, Science, and Technology play an important role in CASLV’s mission. For this reason, all students will be expected to complete a science fair project. Your child should have brought the Science Fair Project Guide home on Wednesday, November 1st.

Your students’ task is to research, design, and conduct their own science fair project. In March, the best projects from each class will be evaluated by a group of judges to select the winning projects in each grade. Those projects will go on to UNLV to represent CASLV Windmill Campus in the Southern Nevada Regional Science Fair.

If your child did not bring the packet or lost it, you may print the packet via the link below.

School Closure

Per the order of Governor Sisolak and the Nevada Department of Education, Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas (CASLV) campuses will remain closed through April 16th, 2020. Distance Education has started through all of our campuses. If you need any help regarding your child’s distance education please contact your campus administration. We will have our Spring Break as scheduled from April 4th through 12th; there will be no distance education during Spring Break. We will resume distance education on April 13, 2020.

This action is an extra measure of protection to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19. CASLV strongly recommends that all children stay home during this time. Family members are also encouraged to practice social distancing, continue washing their hands and avoid touching their faces.

We understand the significant impact school closure will have on families, and we are committed to addressing the needs of all our students. We are working with the Nevada State Public Charter School Authority and the State Department of Education to ensure that your children’s education is not interrupted by this closure.

More information will be emailed to you from individual campuses. Important items will also be posted on our website and social media pages, regarding instructions and other supports for students and families.

The health and safety of our students, staff, and community are our top priorities. We appreciate your patience and support as we navigate this rapidly changing public health crisis.

As a reminder, if students and families need meal assistance, here is the link to the Food Distribution locations for students in Clark County. We have confirmed that any student, including CASLV students, is eligible to pick up food.

For more information regarding the virus, please see the websites of the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) and Southern Nevada Health District (https://www.southernnevadahealthdistrict.org/coronavirus).
