Community Service Requirement

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we introduce the new Community Service Requirement to the high school students here at CASLV.  This site will help students navigate through the requirements as well as find opportunities and view all the other wonderful services that have been performed throughout the year.

*****All High School students are required to complete 25 hours of community service each year.  The school year will be considered the day after the last day of school for the following year in order to allow those students who volunteer during the summer to receive credit for their work. For instance, incoming 9th grade students may receive Community Service Hours the day after 8th grade promotion.  All summer work must be documented in accordance with the school program.
Please, feel free to contact me at any time regarding this new graduation requirement and continue to check in for future opportunities as well as events and information.
Thank you for your continued support in this new endeavor.

School Closure

Per Governor Sisolak’s extension of the state’s emergency measures, Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas (“CASLV”) campuses will remain closed through April 30th, 2020. Distance Education, which began on March 23, 2020, will continue at all of our campuses.  If you need any help regarding your child’s distance education, please contact your campus administration. Our Spring Break will remain as scheduled from April 4th through April 12th; there will be no distance education during Spring Break. Distance education will resume on April 13, 2020.

This action is an extra measure of protection to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19. CASLV strongly recommends that all children stay home during this time. Family members are also encouraged to continue practicing social distancing, washing their hands with soap and warm water, and avoid touching their face.

We understand the significant impact school closure will have on families, and we are committed to addressing the needs of all our students. We are working with the Nevada State Public Charter School Authority and the Nevada Department of Education to ensure that your children’s education is not interrupted by this closure.

More information will be emailed to you from individual campuses. Important items will also be posted on our website and social media pages, regarding instructions and other supports for students and families.

The health and safety of our students, staff, and community are our top priorities. We appreciate your patience and support as we navigate this rapidly changing public health crisis.

As a reminder, if students and families need meal assistance, here is the link to the Food Distribution locations for students in Clark County. We have confirmed that any student, including CASLV students, is eligible to pick up food.

For more information regarding the virus, please see the websites of the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) and Southern Nevada Health District (https://www.southernnevadahealthdistrict.org/coronavirus).
